Tam Communications Wraps Two Interactive CD-ROMs for Interlink

SAN JOSE, CA -- To provide customers with detailed yet coherent information about e-Access™, a three-part product line, and NetLOCK™, a suite of powerful network security products, Fremont-based Interlink Computer Sciences selected San Jose visual communications company Tam Communications to produce two interactive CD-ROMs. The CDs were to be used by Interlink's sales force, and would contain both product specifics and general information on system management and security.

The first CD was created to display the entire e-Access product family, Interlink's suite of three products that provide full manageability, security, and application access to corporate mainframes and client/server applications. In addition to describing each product in detail, the CD also included a demonstration of e-Control, the company's newest e-Access product. Tam's original artwork employed a highway motif, including a sophisticated backdrop of twisting freeways, to convey the endless flow of data on corporate networks including WANs and LANs and the need to secure it with Interlink tools.

The second CD-ROM focused on NetLOCK, an end-to-end network security product which protects company information throughout an entire organization. Featuring a spy theme which emphasized the need to protect vital company information from the prying eyes of competitors and hackers, the CD described NetLOCK's services, provided Interlink's corporate overview, and integrated 22 QuickTime video interviews with Interlink managers and partners. An additional section, "Security01," familiarized users with the intricacies of cryptography, and a special edition of the CD-ROM also contained four modules of computer-based training materials.

"The Tam Communications professionals helped make Interlink's first foray into CD-ROMs a complete success," said Helen Kendrick, Manager of Marketing Services for Interlink. "The CDs were filled with valuable product information, and Tam's execution and art direction made these programs interesting and entertaining to watch. Even though the CDs were vastly different, the synergy was there, a consistent feel which communicated to our outside audience that they were from the same company. The response from the sales team has been absolutely phenomenal—this is a sales tool that will make an impact with potential customers."

Tam's Siiri Tuckwood produced the two CD-ROMs, with writing by Susan O'Connor Fraser and Catherine Sarto. Tam's Graphics and Interactive Group was naturally a critical contributor to the projects: e-Access art was created by Sunny Su, with programming by Karen Toensfeldt; dk blanar provided CD and cover packaging art for NetLOCK, and programming was completed by Nathan Guerra and Timothy O'Connor Fraser. Sandra Silva served as art director for both CDs.
