SAN JOSE, CA -- Tam Communications recently granted international distribution rights for two documentaries to Los Angeles-based PorchLight Entertainment. The two one-hour programs, known in the United States as Street Medics and Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers, internationally as Street Medics: Life and Death Outside the ER and Disasters at Sea: Real Rescues on the High Seas, will be exhibited to programming buyers worldwide by PorchLight, a producer and distributor of family entertainment. PorchLight began its promotion of the shows at MIPCOM in Cannes, France.

Set to premiere domestically on the Discovery Channel on November 22 at 9:00 p.m., Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers features Aviation Survivalmen, members of an elite branch of the Coast Guard responsible for rescuing victims of at-sea and other emergencies. Street Medics premiered on October 8, also on the Discovery Channel, and tells the story of San Jose ambulance paramedics on duty and behind the scenes. Both documentaries use on-scene action footage as well as interviews to explore these two important and unique professions.
