SAN JOSE, CA -- San Jose communications company Tam Communications snagged attention at DAC with five videos and two Director presentations that drove traffic to booths belonging to clients Synopsys, Ultima, Altera, and LogicVision.
Rick Jamison, the project manager for Synopsys who worked closely with the Tam creative team on the DAC video, described the project: "Synopsys was out to create a 'video billboard' that would draw people into our trade show booth. This video needed to convey brand-related messages in short sound bites while also providing a 'big picture' perspective on the company. Working together with Tam, we accomplished both."
Every element of the ten-minute video billboard played into Synopsys’ DAC theme: Innovation on Fast Forward. Layered technology sequences and customer testimonials dominated the program, which required six days of production to complete. Distinctive pacing and timing effects like fast forward and stop motion also reinforced the theme, and the entire piece played off Synopsys’ new look and feel and used colors from their new corporate palette. The video was treated to an original music score by Pat Mosca of Mosca Music.
For Ultima, Tam created an eight-minute video and twelve-minute Director presentation explaining why timing optimization in advanced chips is so crucial, and how Ultima’s products help chip designers close the productivity gap. Designed to be used as a sales tool after DAC, Tam's presentation CD enabled Ultima to accomplish multiple objectives with one product.
"Tam's creative people were extremely effective in helping us to prepare the video and presentation," said Joe Xi, VP of Marketing for Ultima. "It is very satisfying to see the large number of people that came to see Ultima's products at DAC. We thank Tam for the excellent work they did in helping our trade shows."
Altera got two Tam creations for their DAC booth, both outlining Altera’s System on a Programmable Chip solution. The first, an attract loop video, featured several short programs on the whole solution as well as each of the Altera products that compose it. The second piece was a 15-minute presentation which went into more detail on each element of the solution. The programs were enhanced by 3-D and 2-D animation and effects.
Finally, Tam created two eight-minute DAC videos for LogicVision explaining the benefits of embedded test solutions to chip and systems designers. Customers from Sun Microsystems, Nortel Networks, LSI Logic, Fujitsu and others explained how LogicVision’s testing solution improved their development process, and the whole piece was interspersed with graphics displaying the important messages.
