SAN JOSE, CA -- Tam Communications recently completed a recruiting video for the City of Sunnyvale’s Public Safety Department (SPSD), to be shown at job fairs and college campuses nationwide. As members of this unique department serve as both police officers and firefighters, SPSD sought a video that would attract exceptional candidates, those possessing the determination and dedication necessary to excel at such an intense career. Tam created an eight-minute recruiting video for the SPSD that illuminates the exciting, diverse job of the public safety officer. The video uses on-scene footage and interviews with current officers to explain the numerous rewards of a public safety career in the Sunnyvale department.

To collect the required footage, the Tam production crew—Producer Donna Rowell, Director Tam Fraser, and Grips/Camera Operators John Barrett, Scott Bayer, and Petek Cunningham—experienced the lives of public safety officers firsthand, spending several days shooting footage of fires, SWAT actions, and other law enforcement and fire squad activities. The final script, written by Susan O'Connor Fraser, came to life in the finished program, which was edited by John Barrett and Ed Cook.
