SAN JOSE, CA -- Tam Communications recently launched an innovative web project for Mountain View-based Synopsys. This intranet site, a vital component of Synopsys' Around Our World in 90 Days New Employee Program, was designed to help new employees become acclimated and productive quickly, helping them understand the company’s processes, tools, and corporate culture.
Tam developed an intranet site that features questions, activities, and resources that teach new Synopsys employees necessary information about their new workplace. For the first 90 days of their employment, new hires can use the site to learn about everything from broad corporate goals to specific company procedures; answering program questions, they earn points towards a recognition gift from the company. The site is also accessible after the 90-day period has ended to serve as a reference for all employees.
The project required extensive programming by Timothy O'Connor Fraser, Director of the Graphics and Interactive Group for Tam Communications. O'Connor Fraser designed the site to keep track of users' point totals and to interface with Synopsys' HR database, creating a customized home page for each participant. The art was designed by Davythe Dicochea and Sunny Su, and the project was written and produced by Lisa Adams and Michele Bertolone.
