SAN JOSE, CA -- Digital media company Tam Communications recently launched a web site for Peachwood's Steakhouse in Santa Cruz (www.peachwoods.com), demonstrating another innovative use of the latest internet technologies. Tam designed the site as a Flash application, but also developed an alternate HTML version as well, and both capture the lively spirit of the restaurant and its personnel.

"Our client wanted an unforgettable, entirely unique experience for their first web site," explained Creative Director Susan O'Connor Fraser. "Flash allowed us to push the limits of internet creativity and design a truly distinctive online presence for Peachwood's."

Tam developed a web site that uses animation, music, sound and graphical effects to present the services and amenities of Peachwood's Steakhouse. An animated chef serves as host and guide, directing visitors to sections on dining, wedding and events, business meetings, reviews, and directions, each with its own peach mascot. The simpler HTML version follows the basic design of the Flash site, intended for users with older browsers or those who choose not to download the Flash plug-in.

"We hired Tam Communications to produce our web site because we knew they'd have the most creative ideas we could find," said David Smith, owner of Peachwood's Steakhouse. "The site is fun, informational, totally unique, and communicates exactly who we are. Everyone who's seen the site has loved it."

The web site was designed by Art Director Sandra Silva, who enlisted Mike Baxter to help with character design. Silva integrated the Flash site, Michael Andersen the HTML site, and Lisa Adams served as producer.
