SAN JOSE, CA -- Tam Communications recently completed television spots for the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee and their producer Jan Hutchins to help promote their goal of bringing the Olympics to Northern California in 2012. The spots feature local sports stars Ronnie Lott, Jennifer Azzi, and Brandi Chastain urging viewers to join in the BASOC's efforts. The spots, timed to coincide with television coverage of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, are currently airing on Northern Californian stations, including KTVU, KRON and KNTV. They will continue to run until the end of the year, when bids for the 2012 Games are due.

In the spots, football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, WBNA player and former Olympian Jennifer Azzi, and current Olympian soccer player Brandi Chastain talk about the positive effect a Bay Area Olympics would have on our entire region, as events would take place as far north as Sacramento, and as far south as Monterey. As the athletes encourage Northern Californian residents to contact the BASOC to get involved and donate funds, scenes in the background depict young children in adult-sized uniforms, representing the children of today who might be potential athletes in the 2012 games. Filming took place at San Jose State University and Santa Clara University, with some elements being shot at San Jose City College.
