SAN JOSE, CA -- Silicon Valley-based Tam Communications has named Rick Singer as the Director of Development for Tam's entertainment division. In his new role, Singer will be involved in all aspects of development for Tam's current slate of documentary and reality programming.

The former producer has spent the last year in Tam's corporate communications division. Prior to this, Singer developed an impressive career as an independent writer and producer. He has worked on programs for PBS (the American Playhouse series), Warner Brothers, and on the HBO project Rebound: The Legend of Earl 'The Goat' Manigault.

"Rick will be a tremendous asset to our entertainment division," said Tam Communications Chairman Tam Fraser. "His passion and energy are unbelievable and he's going to be instrumental in helping to steer our non-fiction product to cable and broadcast networks."

Known for its syndicated series Coast Guard, which ran domestically for three seasons and is still in international distribution, Vacation SOS for the Travel Channel, and for its eight one hour documentaries for the Discovery Channel, Tam Communications currently has a number of entertainment projects in production and post production. Included in their slate are the series Inside the Action, with a number of episodes currently in post-production, and Punk Bands: On the Road, currently in production. In addition, several one-hour specials are currently being readied for air, including Under Age and Under the Influence, Vanishing Link, and Tall Ship Adventures: The Cutter Eagle.
