Scotts Valley, CA - Trying to do more for less is a driving force for many companies. Credence Systems Corporation and Tam Communications teamed up to develop a win-win scenario to handle Credence's trade show requirements in an intriguing, cost-effective way. Knowing customers are operating on tight budgets and eliminating trade show visits from their travel schedule, Credence opted for a virtual experience, bringing the trade show booth directly to customers.
Instead of traveling cross-country to visit a show, arriving exhausted and missing days at work, test engineers can simply surf to the CredenceVirtual Expo at www.credence.com/virtual. A booth greeter welcomes visitors and invites them to log in to the booth. With the registration form complete, they can then choose to immediately enter the booth or fill out a survey and be entered into a drawing to win a large screen TV. The survey provides Credence marketing with valuable customer and market data.
Once inside, visitors are placed in the virtual center of the booth and given the ability to turn 360 degrees left or right. Once they've decided which Credence semiconductor design-to-production test system they'd like to learn more about, they step in and are invited to view a presentation that provides detailed technical information about that tool. At the end of each presentation, the visitor can request additional information to be sent via mail, e-mail, or be delivered in person by a Credence sales representative.
Credence estimates the Expo has saved them approximately two hundred thousand dollars over the cost of participating in a traditional trade show. In addition, the Expo attracted approximately 400 entries on the first day alone. For a demonstration version of the booth, visit www.tamcom.com/credence/index.html.
The virtual booth experience was created by Tam under the direction of Susan O'Connor Fraser, Creative Director and Executive Producer. 3D Artist Aaron Dingman, who modeled all of the Credence tools, designed the booth, while Art Director Mike Baxter assisted with art creation. The Expo was integrated by Jason Guerra using MacroMedia Flash MX, a powerful web development tool for full integration of video, audio, and animation. Users must have the Flash 6 plug-in to experience the booth.
