Scotts Valley, CA - Tam Communications has signed Santa Fe, New Mexico-based Zia Film Distribution to represent its latest project with Discovery Health. Zia will take Tam's "Lifeguard Rescues" to the international market. Zia already gave programmers a sneak preview of the three episodes at MIPCOM in Cannes this October. The three-hours, a co-production with Discovery Communications, premiered on Discovery Health in May.

"Lifeguard Rescues" was shot on-location in Santa Cruz, California, a small beach town approximately one hour south of San Francisco. Santa Cruz is recognized as the birthplace of surfing on the U.S. mainland. The three episodes follow the work of the Santa Cruz City Beach Lifeguards and feature rescues and medical cases ranging from seizures to heart attacks to cervical injuries.

Zia already represents four other Tam programs including "Preemies", "Infants", and "High Seas Cops" all co-productions with Discovery and "The Healing Chamber" a one-hour co-production between Zia, Discovery Health, and Malibu-based Octagon Productions. "The Healing Chamber" which made its debut on Discovery Health in September is a one-hour exploration of hyperbaric medicine.
