Tam Tapped by PAX to Develop Script for Drama Pilot

Scotts Valley, CA – Tam Communications’ veteran writing and executive producing team, Tam and Susan O’Connor Fraser, announced that they had been tapped by PAX Television to develop a pilot script for the network’s prime time. The script, based on the Tam created concept “Surf Zone: Huntington”, follows the exploits of California State Lifeguards stationed at one of the busiest lifeguard stations in the state, Huntington Beach.

The pilot script was conceived after the Tam writing team worked together on their reality doc series Lifeguard Rescues for Discovery Health. While the main story line of the series followed the Santa Cruz City Beach Lifeguards, the city lifeguards often work in tandem with the state lifeguard units who patrol just off the shoreline. During production, Tam O’Connor Fraser learned that the state personnel not only have search and rescue duties but are sworn peace officers as well. That sparked Tam’s interest and became the idea behind Surf Zone which Tam pitched as ChiPs Meets Baywatch.

During their research, the team realized that the best location for such a series was to set it in Huntington Beach, one of the busiest locales in the State Lifeguard system, swamped with rescues, medical cases, and law enforcement cases all summer long.

The completed script is currently in development at PAX with Tam and Susan slated to continue on as Executive Producers. No production schedule has been determined to date.
