Scotts Valley, CA - After two years of collaboration, the City of Sunnyvale and Specialty Solid Waste asked Tam Communications to extend their creative services for another year. The request covers the production of all print media produced for Sunnyvale residents to convey the City/Specialty programs and services related to garbage collection and recycling.

Tam first secured the contract in 2001, and began by redesigning the look of the print campaign. The campaign included different communication programs for single-family residents and multi-family residents, and for the City/Specialty to Sunnyvale residents. Five newsletters, a new resident flyer, posters, a letter to owners and managers of multi-tenant facilities, and two post cards will be produced through the year. Tam’s Susan O’Connor Fraser manages the project and writes the copy for the various publications, working closely with the artist on the project, Jubily Boy, of Salt ‘n Paper.

The first two pieces for the year are already in production—two newsletters, which will cover everything from how to make the most of your recycling efforts to announcements of extra curb side pick-up and hazardous waste drop-off events, are in first-round design. A new theme will be introduced this year, reinforcing the partnership that exists between the City, Specialty and cit residents, and how our combined efforts work in concert to maintain our quality of life and the health of our environment.
