Scotts Valley, CA - When Caliper Life Sciences CEO Kevin Hrusovsky was introduced at the JP Morgan Conference in San Francisco, the screen above him filled with images of the company’s products, its research and manufacturing facilities, its customers, and the people eventually served by its products. Caliper Life Sciences manufactures laboratory automation equipment which helps medical researchers find cures for diseases and helps pharmaceutical companies speed drug development. The video, produced by Tam Communications, demonstrates the vital role that Caliper plays in these important arenas.

Tam’s Executive Producer and Creative Director, Susan O’Connor Fraser wrote the script for the one-minute video and produced the program directed and edited by Tam Fraser. Production on-location in Mt. View, California would include enough footage to create multiple videos to support the company’s marketing efforts. In addition, Tam tapped into its own library of stock footage to portray patients of all ages whose quality of life could be improved with Caliper’s products. And since Caliper Life Sciences is the result of a merger of Caliper Technologies and Zymark, O’Connor Fraser also worked with a Boston-based company to shoot footage of the Zymark offices there including its R&D and manufacturing areas.

In addition to live action footage, an animated logo treatment was created by Aaron Dingman to begin and end the video. The finished piece was well-received and was immediately uploaded to the company’s web site so that web visitors could get a look at the one-minute commercial.
