Scotts Valley, CA - Los Gatos-based ad agency, Barnestorming, approached Tam Communications to help roll out the television component of an advertising program announcing the inauguration of Jet Blue Service to the San Jose Mineta International Airport. Jim Barnes, Creative Director for the agency, developed the concept for the spot and worked directly with Tam’s Executive Producer/Director, Tam Fraser.

The concept: Feature San Jose locales and San Jose residents (including San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzalez) welcoming an arriving Jet Blue flight with “Welcome” signs focused towards the plane and the camera. Fraser, working as Director/Cameraman; Associate Producer, Steve Enzer; and Grip, Jess Ortega, spent a day of production traveling to pre-selected locations such as The Tech Museum, the Mexican Heritage Plaza, City Hall, San Jose State, and, of course, the Airport.

Following production, Fraser rushed into post-production, adding the company’s proprietary film-look process to the source footage and then editing the spot on one of the company’s Avid editing systems.
