Scotts Valley, CA - Sales reps attending Net App’s Annual Sales Kick-off were treated to more than just a series of static PowerPoint presentations this year. When the marketing break-out sessions started, they immediately knew they were in for something different thanks to the opening video. The video was just one of a series of videos Tam Communications produced working closely with the Net
The videos ranged from an edgy music video to start off the meeting to a celebratory music video to end it. The closing piece highlighted all the great accomplishments for the past year. In between, three one-minute ‘commercials’ boasting the success of NetApp’s partnerships with Oracle, Microsoft and SAP played. Additionally a Clutch Cargo-like skit featured a NetApp VP interviewing the CEO from one of the company’s biggest competitors.
The biggest challenge of the project was the schedule. From the first call to the delivery of the finished piece was only two weeks. Once Executive Producer, Susan O’Connor Fraser, agreed that the tight turn-around was workable, the next challenge was accumulating, organizing, then making hundreds of assets ready for editing. That task fell to Tam’s Associate Producer, David Trounstine.
Tam Fraser edited all of the videos in Tam’s digital editing facility. He also directed the in-house talent in the mock interview. Long-distance approvals via Tam’s extranet with the Tennessee-based project manager allowed for quick accommodation of requested changes. The final programs were then authored to DVD for easy access during the event.
