SCOTTS VALLEY, CA--When the entertainment industry needs military assets for a motion picture or television program, they contact one of the Motion Picture and Television Liaison Offices in Los Angeles. Each branch has an office there including the Coast Guard, which, while a branch of the military, reports to the Department of Homeland Security. Tam Communications association with the Coast Guard, dates back to the late 80s and includes working closely with them on Tam's television series, "Coast Guard", which ran in syndication for three seasons; 26-episodes of "Vacation: SOS", which ran on the Travel Channel; "Sea Rescue", an international version of "Coast Guard"; and five specials for the Discovery Channel including the award-winning "Rescue Swimmer" and "Coast Guard: Survivors".

With this background, Tam's selection to produce the promotional video for the Coast Guard's Motion Picture and Television Office (MOPIC) made a lot of sense. The Tam production team--Tam Fraser, Director, Susan O'Connor Fraser, Producer, and David Trounstine, Audio/Grip--traveled to Los Angeles for the two-day shoot. Interviews with Baywatch Creator, Greg Bonnan; Executive Producer, Ira Shuman ("Yours, Mine & Ours"); Director, Andy Davis ("The Fugitive" and the upcoming "The Guardian); and USCG Commander, Kevin Raimer who current heads up MOPIC, were put in the can to reinforce the great work that the Office does and the commitment they have to the entertainment industry. Back in Northern California, Tam shot an additional interview with Former Tam VP of Development and "Coast Guard: The Series" Producer, Connie Segreto.

Tam then pulled the material into post, crafting the video and blending film clips from the films and TV shows the Coast Guard has supported over the years--from the signature opening shot for "Baywatch" to "Bad Boys II" to "CSI: Miami" to "Clear & Present Danger".

Regan Eymann was Assistant Editor and Scott Stimson designed the packaging for the DVD.
