SCOTTS VALLEY, CA--Two commercials for Nations Hamburgers are now airing on Bay Area television stations, a result of the collaboration between Tam Communications and Nations' agency Barnestorming of Los Gatos. Jim Barnes of Barnestorming was the creative director for the spots with Tam O'Connor Fraser as director/cinematographer.

The spots were shot with a combination of Super 16 film and betacam and DV video. Film production took place on-location at Nation's newly renovated Berkeley, California restaurant. The shooting scheduled required several slice-of-life scenes, food prep and food beauty shots. The cast of 17 included a family stopping in on their way to a camping trip, a moving crew enjoying lunch, a young couple sharing a slice of pie, two fishermen (played by the two Nations' founders) eating breakfast, and four friends coming in for burgers after a vigorous game of basketball. Video production took place at the company's headquarters in El Cerrito, the El Cerrito Nations' outlet, and at a basketball court in Oakland. Tam's crew included Assistant Cameraman, Joe Ward; Camera Assistant Audrey Kim; Gaffer, Andy Olsen; Grip, Sean Pritchard; Make-up Artist, Lisette Townzen; and Teacher, Carolyn Crimley. Susan O'Connor Fraser produced for Tam Communications with Regan Eymann as Associate Producer.

The film transfer was done at Monaco Film and Video in San Francisco. Tam then proceeded into post-production in the company's digital editing suite. The spots were cut to existing jingles created by composer, Pat Mosca.
