SCOTTS VALLEY, CA--When new employees come on-board at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, one of their first experiences will be to watch a new video, completed by Tam Communications. The five-minute video was produced in order to show employees that while the the Good Sam staff is diverse, they all share a common vision and commitment to patient care.
The creative concept was developed by Leslie Kelsay, Good Samaritan's Vice President, Marketing and Communications. It was up to the Tam team to deliver on her vision. The concept was simple: Sit a variety of hospital employees in a chair in front of a painter's canvas, toss them a gobe and let them share where they're from and what they do in the hospital, and then how they feel about their work at Good Sam. Director/Cameraman Tam O'Connor Fraser worked closely with Kelsay during production to draw out the employees on camera. Tam then took the video into the company's digital editing suite and created a piece that is brimming with personality and optimism.
"We showed the video to our management team for the first time on Friday. People loved it. People who had recently been through orientation themselves especially loved it. What I didn't expect was that the video would make more than a few of them pool upóI wasn't targeting a tearful, heart-strings response this particular time, so it caught me a little off-guard. In a good way." noted Kelsay.
