A new rendition of the old song and a fresh new cast are part of the new Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk commercials rolled out in the Spring. The "California Sun" campaign has been really successful for the amusement park but it was definitely time for a make-over. Composer Pat Mosca working with recording artist Becca Kavanaugh to deliver the hot new sound track and Director/Cameraman, Tam Fraser, made it come to life on the screen.
Two days of shooting on the Boardwalk with a cast of 15 and a crew of ten was a coordination challenge. From young kids admiring taffy pulling at Marinis, to two teen girls being scared as they moved through Fright Walk, to a family enjoying corn dogs and Pepsi, to a group of friends having fun on the beach and in the water, the goal was to capture the sights, sounds, and surprises of the unique Boardwalk experience.
Twenty different spots were then created to coincide with the different promotions the Boardwalk rolls out through the season. For more information, check out the press release.
